About 28 projects on Kyrgyz territory were financed through this fund and about 700 more different projects are lent money through the Kyrgyz commercial banks.”
Vladimir Putin, Russian President (Russian): “An important component in the strategic relations of Russia and Kyrgyzstan is military and technical cooperation. It is sure that implementation of the interstate contract on development of VTS [Military-technical cooperation] signed today will make an essential contribution to further solidifying the defence capability of Kyrgyzstan. Today we also confirmed the general understanding that the presence of Russian military bases in Kyrgyzstan is an important factor of stability support and safety in central Asian region. It is also responding to the long-term interests of our states and all our allies on the CSTO [Collective Security Treaty Organization].
Vladimir Putin, Russian President (Russian): “In conclusion, I would like to add that we know the president of the republic will leave his office and I would like to thank Almazbek Sharshenovich for his work on the development of the Russian-Kyrgyz relations, for what he does for the development and support of the Russian language in Kyrgyzstan. We highly appreciate it and we want to thank you for the fact that you laid such a strong foundation for the development of the double-sided relations on medium-term and I hope for the long term.”

Almazbek Atambayev, Kyrgyz President (Russian): “I would like to point out that Russia has provided us significant financial aid. Here and today our Ministers of Finance exchanged the protocol on the writing-off of all debts from Kyrgyzstan to Russia and today when we discussed the agenda, we saw that there are no disagreements, and there are only plans and perspectives for the future.”
