Obama Told Putin He’d Better Stop Election Tampering ‘or Else’ and Twitter Can’t Stop Laughing

Obama Told Putin He’d Better Stop Election Tampering ‘or Else’ and Twitter Can’t Stop Laughing

A new report is out claiming that Russian President Vladimir Putin personally oversaw all efforts to tamper in the 2016 American election.

That’s making headlines, but people are having a hard time digesting what former President Barack Obama personally said to Putin last fall to put a stop to it.

The Washington Post reported that American intelligence noted attempted Russian interference in the election. As we were told later, there were phishing emails that were reportedly opened at Democratic National Committee and by Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta. U.S. intelligence also got wind of unsuccessful attempts to hack into election systems in 21 states.

The Post reported that Obama administration laid down the law five times with high-ranking meetings starting last summer, and in a face-to-face encounter with Putin in Hangzhou, China, last September. This is what the former American president told the former KGB agent-turned-president:

“Obama told Putin that ‘we knew what he was doing and [he] better stop or else,’ according to a senior aide who subsequently spoke with Obama.”

Previously, Obama said he told Putin to “cut it out.”

Then, just nine days before the election, the Obama administration sent a strongly worded message on the U.S.-Russia “hotline.”

And nothing happened.

According to an anonymous source:

“I feel like we sort of choked.”

President Trump seemed to agree with that assessment:

By the way, if Russia was working so hard on the 2016 Election, it all took place during the Obama Admin. Why didn’t they stop them?
Trump wasn’t the only one who noticed. On Twitter, Obama detractors noticed that the third grade throw down didn’t exactly come off as decisive:

Oh, come on! Obama told Putin to cut it out. What more did you want?
And you knew this one was coming:

Obama told Putin, “Cut it out, or else!”
“Dr. Mark” apparently believed the response was perhaps a little younger than a third-grade level:

Obama even stomped his foot when he scolded Russia….
